Jim Barry has significantly shaped Australia's wine history. Thanks to his commitment and sense of community, the Clare Valley wine region is known as one of the best in Australia. Jim Barry was one of the first graduate oenologists in the region. In 1959, with his wife Nany, he bought the first vineyards north of the Clare Valley. Nancy, as well as their sons Peter, Mark and John, contributed a lot to the success of the company. Peter has been Managing Director since 1985 and today manages the winery together with his children Tom (Cellarmaster), Sam (Commercial Manager) and Olivia (Brand Ambassador).
