Producers: Prunotto

Prunotto is located in Alba, center of the Langhe region, equidistant from Barbaresco and Barolo, on the right bank of the Tanaro. The winery is located on one level, surrounded by vineyards of the Langhe and Roero region. Nestled between the surrounding hills and the beautiful valleys. The first harvest took place in 1905. This was followed by difficult years, which suffered from the instability of the economy and were aggravated by the First World War. In 1922, when it was time to renew the cooperative winery, many members decided not to bring in their grapes anymore. The winery began to get serious problems and was eventually liquidated. During this crisis, Alfredo Prunotto married the young Luigina and decided to take over the winery Ai Vini delle Langhe and give him his name. The winery quickly became famous and began exporting wines all over the world. The land on which Prunotto is located fascinates and delights not only because of its natural landscape, the colors and the silence, but also because of its history and its traditions. Baroque and Renaissance palaces and medieval towers have been meticulously maintained and restored. In 1989, the Marchesi Antinori family began to work with the Prunotto family, initially in sales and later in 1994, when the Colla brothers retired, also in the production process. The company decided to take on this terrain, convinced that it would embark on a path that would make Prunotto one of the most important wine-producing companies in the Piedmont region.
