Our producer: Domaine Edouard Confuron

Édouard Confuron, the son of François Confuron-Gindre, has dared to set up his own domaine.

Having his own winery offers him the opportunity to create wines with a character all of his own and to present the terroir in a style that reflects his learned skills together with the developments of the new age.

Édouards Domaine covers only 1.50 hectares but offers seven wines. Most of the land comes from the family, with Nuits-St-Georges Aux Allots as an agricultural contract. The Confuron name spans the entire Côte de Nuits with parcels in Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges and has always been in Vosne-Romanée with three influential branches (including Jean-Jacques Confuron and Confuron-Cotetidot). well received) by the family, which owns considerable estates in the village. Although he is just beginning his legacy, he has the strong support of his family and access to plots rarely accessible to new winemakers in the region.

Edouard plans to be certified organic in the near future as his family farm is organic but not yet certified. Its wines are made in a small cuverie, with a cellar attached to the family estate. Edouard uses more whole grapes than in the family range and vinifies these cuvées without sulfur, only adding it at the end.
