Powerful yet defined, the wine presents its fragrance. Elegant and supple on the palate. Velvety soft tannins.

Vinification / aging

Grapes destemed, crushed and followed by a short infusion. Only matured in concrete tank to reveal the complexity and tension of this wine.

History

Domaine d’Ouréa was founded in 2009 and is located on the renowned communes of Vacqueyras and Gigondas, in the southern part of the Côtes du Rhône. Adrien Roustan, passionate about vines and nature, naturally took over part of his grandfather Raymond Bertrand’s estate after his studies, and then acquired new plots in Vacqueyras and Gigondas. He converted the vineyard to organic farming and named it “Domaine D’Ouréa” in 2010 as a tribute to his highest parcel of Gigondas located at 1700 feet on the South slopes of the splendid Dentelles de Montmirail. With the help of Hissam Jait and seasonal workers, the estate now farms 20 hectares around the Hameau de Fontbonne in Vacqueyras. Adrien Roustan commercializes and sells the entire production in bottles in all three colors, with a majority in red. The 4 appellations produced are Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône and its “Tire Bouchon”, labeled as a Vin de Table.

“In Greek mythology, Gaia, the primal Mother Earth goddess bore several children and named one amongst these, “Ouréa”, who is commonly known as the God of the Mountains, an obvious nod to our highest plot of land set in the highest slopes of the Dentelles .”
